Passion

Anna has a vast variety of artistry.  Her one style is the abstract works she draws from happenings in her everyday life that inspire and trigger her fantasy.  The flip side is the Byzantine Iconography.  Two opposite genres in the art world.  One is the inspirations and emotions that we feel as humans.  The other is the very obedient art of Iconography, which shows the emotion of another state of being that we as humans cannot sense, but aspires to.  Anna's love for art started at a young age, which was influenced by her very creative and talented mother, Sophia, who was a seamstress.  There is also the connection to nature which is shown in her florals and scenic paintings. In HS she studied Creative Arts, and her interest for art sparked.  Graduating from Berkeley Business College in 1990  she continued to study art in her spare time. At that time, self-taught in painting and drawing.  Later on to move abroad for over 14 years living in Samos, Greece.   She studied and graduated with an Associates degree in Byzantine Iconography from the Metropolitan Greek Orthodox Archdiocese School of Byzantine Cultural Arts.  Anna joined the Women's Art League in Samos, Greece and displayed artworks in a joint effort to inspire others to pursue the arts. She also was teaching art to children on the island of Samos. As of 2006 living in New York where she continues her passion for the arts and teaching.  During her off work hours as an Account Specialist she is an art teacher for children of the elementary level,  a paint party planner and assisting in college portfolio preparation. She continues to paint in her private art studio in Port washington. Working to create and learn in a world ever changing, it is always what fills her soul with happiness. Anna completed her A.A in Fine Arts at Nassau Community College in 2017. She has two sons that followed their passion for the Arts. It has been an awakening experience to see how much of an impact she has made on many peoples lives. Her son Leonidas graduated from SVA he is an Animator, Artist and Musician and her son Costandino is a Fashion Designer and Art Handler for several Art Galleries in SOHO and Tribeca, NYC.
